A huge heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who has shown support to our smiley boy, Pirate. ⏰ Pirate needs surgery and special needs training ⏰
PLEASE HELP US COVER THE COSTS.
Pirate is a sweet, gentle Border Collie who was surrendered to Inspector Kath after his owner could not give him the care he needed. Born deaf and with a painful eye defect (Micro-opthalmia), Pirate has only known life confined to a tether with limited socialisation.
Now safe in care with RSPCA, Pirate needs his right eye removed as it’s causing pain. If left untreated, the eye would be vulnerable to further pain and infection – Pirate deserves better!
“Despite his early life and his disabilities, he is just the sweetest thing and is just so happy.
He is honestly such a joy to be around!” – Inspector Kath
Please will you help us raise $4,000 to cover his surgery and special needs behaviour training so Pirate can live the life he deserves?
Help Pirate with a donation today!
Pirate is awaiting his surgery in a loving volunteer foster care home. Stressed and uneasy at first, he has loved being surrounded by his foster family and having a routine is helping him enjoy the comforts of living inside a home
On top of his surgery, Pirate will need extensive training to learn how to navigate the world off a tether before he is ready to find his forever home. He is already making great progress but has a long way to go and will need someone who understands the complications that come with being deaf and blind and is willing to invest time in training this sweet 2-year-old.
Pirate is just one of the 379 shelter animals currently under vet care at RSPCA Victoria and his surgery is just one of 57 scheduled to be performed this week. As a community-funded organisation, we can’t shoulder the cost of these life-changing surgeries on our own – please help us give Pirate the life he deserves.
Thank you for opening your heart to animals and contributing what you can to Pirate's surgery fund.
*The goal for Pirate's fundraiser includes the cost of his surgery, behaviour training and other costs associated with his care. If funds raised in Pirate's name exceed target, additional funds will contribute to the treatment, rehabilitation and rehoming of other animals in need.
