Laurell's Fund
We smashed the target - thank you so much!!! 🎉🎉🎉
Laurell in the clinic enjoying some much deserved pats and love.
Brought in as a battered stray, Laurell still had so much love to give.
Sweet Laurell arrived to our shelter clinic with severe injuries. Her eye was bulging, her jaw was fractured, and she had severe internal injuries. Our Vets determined she had likely been hit by a car and was in a lot of pain.
Despite this, she is still so loving and just wants to cuddle and smooch.
In pain and alone, Laurell was thankfully found in the street by a kind person. They took her to the Animal Emergency Centre (AEC) to be stabilised, then she was transferred to our RSPCA Burwood Clinic.
Her bulging eye has been removed, along with her spleen and a portion of her fractured jaw, but she isn’t out of the woods yet.
Will you make an urgent loving gift to help give Laurell the vital medical care she needs?
Laurell’s jaw surgery is just one step in ensuring she has no ongoing pain. As her jaw heals and teeth move into place, she will likely need additional dental work to help her jaw function so her teeth don’t cause any further damage.
You can see from her X-ray, her delicate jaw bones were so out of place.
With no microchip, this sweet girl has no one to go home to, and there’s a long road to recovery before she’s ready for adoption. While she gets showered with love in our clinic and given time to heal, she needs continuous monitoring and care to see this loving girl back to full health.
With her medical needs so urgent, we had to act fast. The costs of her care are adding up. That’s why we’re asking animals lovers like you to help.
Please consider a gift today to cover the costs of her life saving surgery and ongoing care, which we estimate will be at least $3500. No donation will go un-noticed. Every dollar helps.
*The goal for Laurell’s fundraiser includes some of the cost of her surgery so far and ongoing rehabilitation. If funds raised in Laurell’s name exceed target, additional funds will contribute to the treatment, rehabilitation and rehoming of other animals in need.
